BRIEF: 13 WREX to host town hall event on opioid crisis

Oct. 29--ROCKFORD -- 13 WREX, in partnership with the Rockford Public Library, will host a town hall event Nov. 16 to discuss the affect opioids have on the area.

Panelists include Illinois Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti, Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Nirav Shah, Rockford Police Chief Dan O'Shea and Rosecrance Harrison Campus Medical Director Dr. Raymond Garcia.

The event goes from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nordlof Center, 118 N. Main St., Rockford. A 30-minute screening of a 13 WREX documentary on the opioid crisis will be followed by a 60-minute panel discussion and questions from those in attendance.
