Ebensburg Dairy Queen cited for violations

Tribune-Democrat - 11/7/2017

Nov. 07--An Ebensburg fast-food restaurant was ruled out of compliance following an inspection Wednesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

According to the state's Food Safety Inspection Reports database, the Dairy Queen location on Route 22 in Cambria Township received seven violations that resulted in its status as out of compliance.

The violations, listed on the database, included food residue on the back ledge of a cooler, a cooler that lacked an air temperature monitor, food residue on a table-mounted can opener, dirty rags in the restaurant's wash area for kitchen implements, and a dirty floor in the dishwashing and cake decorating area.

The other violations concerned fungus or drain flies near the restaurant's warewashing and chemical storage area, along with mops stored in "dirty, stagnant bleach water from the previous evening's floor cleaning," the report says.

This Dairy Queen location was in compliance during its previous regular inspection on Jan. 24, the state database says.

A shift leader at the restaurant told The Tribune-Democrat that a follow-up inspection will be done Tuesday.
